What did you do in the garden today?

one of the odd folks will ot take a bath hate sitting in my perceived dirty
water :bow
I get that. I don't take a bath unless I'm really hurting and it's got epsom in it. Main reason being sensitive skin, and a bath not getting all of the soap residue off of my skin. Itchy-itchy... I converted my 3 boys, 7, 6, and 4 yr. olds to showers this year almost completely.

I hadn't thought about it in the bath...nice, thanks! I loooove me some hot water chill-time.

In other news, my newbie lavender marans Coco is starting to redden up in the face. She's older than I thought. My breeder just let me know that the other three I ordered aren't going to be coming--she had really bad luck with the Appenzeller Spitzhaubens and I don't want to integrate a single bird. Sigh.

I live in a suburb. My house is about 8' from my neighbors houses on either side. Electrified fencing of any kind and barbed wire are illegal. Too many children that play within feet of other people's property lines.
That makes sense.

I'm done with gardening for today. It's not so much the heat, as the humidity. It rained last night. Would you believe it if I told you that I think ants are predating the squash vine borer eggs? I went to do a removal and most of them are gone. Overnight! I don't have any aphids on those plants, but there were a LOT of ants.

I don't think the rain washed them all off, they adhere pretty firmly. I did see an ant carrying off a tiny caterpillar that could have been a SVB larvae, so I guess these ants eat protein. Cool! Nature helping out...

I'll have to check the weather to see when I can spray again.
