What did you do in the garden today?

I forgot most people have a hose. I unfortunately. Plus it’s been raining buckets for weeks and don’t think my garden can take any more water. But for normally the hose method seems great. I neem oil once a week to keep them at bay and add coffe grounds around the base and it seems to drive the ones that sneak in in between to the top so I can find and pluck those suckers. Still some damage still but waaaayyyy better than in the past. Damage is very little and tons of squash that’ll be ready soon!

I noticed the watermelon seemed heat stressed so I watered the heck out of it this morning. There are only 2 melons on it but they seem to be growing well. There are 3 cantaloupe just a bit smaller than a baseball, but all the flowers are gone with the heat. The tomatoes have gone crazy though.
Sunflowers :loveand a squash blossom. I haven't pulled weeds, the cantaloupe is quite attached and I figure they shade the soil...:D

Rain finally moved out along with heat and humidity!!! Yay the area of my yard that I opened as garden this year was trying to turn back to lawn around my tomatoes ang peppers. Got majority of grad pulled around tomatoes and some peppers and added stakes to my peppers... stating to get to tall. Tomatoes hitting tops of cages bushy and full of blooms! Peppers looking good. Hadn’t added past 4 feet of fence around the arbor pumpkins past that so need to access that. Zukes starting to bloom and tons of yellow squash!!! Picked 1 1/2 of kale they other day and radishes just about there!

Looking awesome!! I thought watermelon only grew 2-3 melons per plant. Maybe it was the ones I was planting. But you garden looks great!

Had one huge HUGE mulberry tree in our yard when I was young. We usually would load up and take it to the lady next door and she would make us something delicious with it!! For some reason I always picked them barefoot. Remember my mom fussing at me about my purple feet. Lol

That's a great idea with the mulch/hose, LG! I get coffee grounds from work and put it in the blueberries and around the vining plants. I think it helps.

Something is tearing up the blueberry leaves. I need to do something about it, but not sure what. It's been raining buckets here as well, and when it's not, it's in the mid-90s with 120% humidity. Blech.

The first set of my atomic grape tomatoes should be ripe this week. I hope they live up to the hype, they're really pretty.

I have the Atomic Tomatoes as well. Started them late, I have a few weeks still before I get my first blooms. Best to identify your pest before you treat. You can get the best product for your type of critter. If you're not growing organic I would get some Sevin spray, it works on all most everything and breaks down fast.
