What did you do in the garden today?

James the Son was born with small lungs, flat feet and bad heart.. he did work walmart for 9 years he was one of the highest paid so they got rid of him.. Dad wonders if if his years in Vietnam caused it

Oh wow! Does he think it has something to do with Agent Orange? My Dad was in the Navy during Vietnam, but got DD’d for fighting with a superior officer. Anyway, the first time I heard anything about Agent Orange was from him. He told me that all sorts of things were being put in their bodies with very little explanation as to what all of it was. Back then I just thought he was trying to scare me out of enlisting because I was considering it at the time.

Bf was a sea bee but orange was all over but then he came home went to work for Simpson Lumber for 40 years .. chemicals used there at those times are no picnic either

Hi all! Well, it looks like Hurricane Florence is coming right at us. Ugh. I really really hope I don't have to evacuate. It's hard to get back afterward. If it's coming in as a Cat 4 though, we're gone. I'm going to lock the chickens in my shed with all of their feeders and waterers full. It's sturdy enough that if the shed goes the house is likely going, as well. Ugh again. I have so much crap to put inside.

We're getting the office ready today and tonight and tomorrow I'll finish with the house prep. Think safe thoughts for me please!

Today I brought in a giant garden hod full of tomatoes and peppers. Despite getting severe blight problems the tomatoes are still producing and ripening. It's not just the tomatoes that are having trouble this year. The local TREES and GRASS are having fungus issues. Not promising for my garden, tbh.

I've also been sick this past week and couldn't get out to get veggies as they were ripening so some of the cayenne peppers split open and fell down! I might get some volunteers next year...!

There is always the chance that hurricane will change directions and go back out to sea, or weaken and not be so damaging. Hugs and Prayers for all in path.

We actually went to our state fair today Puyallup get more rain than we do here most
the day was fine but two real gully washers came though one as we leaving raincoats where in the car of course
