What did you do in the garden today?

Carrots. I'll be planting and thinning these out within a week or 2 depending on growth and weather patterns. They're outside already so don't need hardening off.

Hey you, how's it going? Haven't seen you around much?

My computer is broken, so it's hard to find time/ways to get online. Right now I have my partner's laptop cause he's not home, but it's crummy cause he doesn't take care of it so I hate using it.
Everything's under snow right now, so not much gardening.

Most exciting thing is I'm prepping for Yule again. Yule is a really big deal for me, and I'm super thrilled to be planning for it again. I have a schedule for prepping for it and everything. :) I even managed to find my log for the year in October from a craigslist ad and it's been in my garage drying ever since.

I'm happy you can get online anyway. I always think of you as Yule approaches.

I'm planning as well. Our log is from a tree we had to cut down, we've had several years worth now. I'm keeping it simple this year though.

It is the best time to garden though, I don't even try in summer here except to maintain everything that's perennial.

Christmas is a big time of year I love decorating for it guess i am not PC as it is still Christmas to us

Er... Christmas is a different religion, on a different day, with different meaning and traditions. (Though, I will admit that christmas certainly appropriated most of it's traditions from pagan faiths.)
That would be like saying "I'm not politically correct so it's not Hanukkah to us, it's still Christmas.". Like, it's just factually incorrect and a bit dismissive to think of them the way you put...

Igor, I'm happy I have a little online time too. I got my log this year from a local Craigslist ad from a tree in our neighborhood that was cut down on a vacant property. It's a maple log, not as exciting as oak from previous years but I could really use the change in my life I think so maybe it'll be good.

Simple sounds easier, which is nice. I had a really hectic thanksgiving, so I really ought to be going simple but instead I've swerved in the opposite direction. I went to JoAnnes on black friday and picked up a bunch of decorations for 50-70% off. It was honestly pretty chill when I got there. I got fabric for tablecloths, one holly patterns and the other has evergreens and bells at $3/yard, which was great. We also nabbed some yarn and I'm teaching my partner D to crochet. We're trying to make hats. :p

I'm still trying to decide what all food to make. I know I'm making a European style savory rabbit game pie, but I'm trying to decide if I wanna get a local turkey and what my veg*n main dish is gonna be.

Wow, you're really going all out! I love making my own things too. I'm currently working on an altar cloth but not sure I'll get it finished before then. I do a major cleaning of the house from top to bottom and that's taking a lot of my time right now. I purge all the junk that has accumulated throughout the year too.

I often make a Spanish turkey soup for dinner with an orange salad and fresh bread or rolls. We also candy orange peels and make crystalized ginger.

Will you have guests, or are you solitary?
