I did not want to commit to where the boxes were at, thought I may move them in the future (and I did for chicken run). Having them raised made less bending and grass growing in boxes. Also dealing with the nematodes here... our sandy soil is loaded with the little sh*ts so I screened bottoms and nailed old HT pallet wood to boxes. Bringing in chosen soil from the mountain and amending it with my compost I thought I would try to control it a bit. ha ha ha... control...Really nice!! I see your raised beds are raised above the ground. Is there a reason for them to be high like that, or for there to be space between them and the ground?
WHAT!!!! Why does your garden look better with chickens???!!! Did you purchase nice, polite chickens?!! Where can I get me some of those..?Garden last summer

Don't know how you do it... my DH is cussing up the chicken poop and they have eaten EVERYTHING including my potted succulents, Ti leaf... I mean nothing is safe.I’m planning on hatching peafowl eggs and letting them roam around freely too, might aswell call it “the petting zoo”
I came across these photos today of this time last year.
