What did you do in the garden today?

You can grow vining plants up rather than out to save space. Some things need to be tied to a trellis and I've seen old stockings used as slings for squash and melon.

I'm going to try it this year in the garden with the quail in there.
Right on! I buy a multi pack of XXLG regular pantyhose the cheap kind every year. I use them on my grapes & berries or anything that needs to be staked for support. They won’t cut into growing vines as they can expand and ... handle allot of weight. They dry out quickly after rain. I love to use them! Sounds like your going to have a little project.
We’d love to see how that works for you. Gotta keep us posted on that one! :clap

Definitely will! Going to try an Armenian cuke first, then some watermelon when it warms up.

Oh wow, what pretty dogs! I have been trying to get a third dog - an aussie shepherd - but working with adoption groups is like pulling teeth. :T And good breeders are expensive and often don't have litters but once a year.

Hard part is yes we never bred but to build a better dog... wouldn't be so many in kill shelter if left to us

Well whaddya know? My strawberry seeds that I planted 1 week ago, and that may take 30-40 days to germinate....already have 1 tiny plant sprouting!!!! :wee

These are the "mignonette" strawberry seeds. I started them so early bc package says so long to germinate. In the case they didn't like the Jiffy pods, and didn't germinate, I started them early. Also it was a bit of a middle finger to the impending snow and ice storm that was arriving that night. I guess this little strawberry sprout has attitude and it's another middle finger to the impending Arctic Blast with expected -12F temps over the next few days.

Here are all 72 pods, each with 1 or 2 very tiny strawberry seeds: Yup, sprout is too tiny to see in this pic.

Thank you for the offer, but kindly keep your cold away from me. Apparently we are facing a wood pellet shortage here in New England. I managed to buy 30 bags yesterday and I hope it will last through February. Keep your fingers and toes warm.:frow

I did find a distributer in New Hampshire but he isn't delivering right now. I may be able to get some pellets from them beginning March. I may have to resort to single bag purchases to get me through this winter. Oil prices have dropped but pellets are still cheaper.
