What did you do in the garden today?

lovely day today extended the run by a few feet not much but the chickens appreciate it ,cleaned the pond and cleared some dead growth can see the new shoots coming through ,snowdrops flowering and crocus, spring is in the air ! of course my joints are protesting but if I can get a little done( if weather cooperates )then I am happy, getting outside really helps my mood .I think us gardeners are going a little stir crazy now

One of the blueberry bushes I planted the other day. They're huge.

We have these native bushes in our woods. I’m not sure what they are, to me they look like some kind of wild blueberry. They have so many similar features. :idunno

So today I’m outside it’s a beautiful sunny 32* no wind.
I have my LH in my lap justa’ cuddling...when I heard a thud? Dunno I’m looking around...hens are acting normal. I heard it again. Then I stand up! Oh.. there’s a hawk somehow with it’s talons stuck in the wire atop my run!! It really began to struggle when it see’s me. It flew off. My chickens know when I say “Hawk” in a certain way...they make a bee line for the run (good girls)
So bizarre...small hawk going after the sparrows I’m sure. And i didn’t see a thing prior. Ima’ so observant
