I'm beginning to think I did something wrong with my spinach seedlings. 2 different varieties. so far 2 cells of 1 variety have germinated and only 1 cell of the other variety. Not sure about the other cells. It has been 7 days so far so I'll wait it out a bit. Both packets of seed were purchased just a couple weeks ago..

My experience with spinach: it takes awhile to spout. And just when you think it isn't going to sprout, it finally does. I've had better luck when I direct seed it. Good luck.

Some before’s then after. I’m hoping I found my answer for gardening in a chicken’s yard. The bed is wired & reseeded. The rocks are wired on two levels. I fenced (hard to see) it. Once the flowers get big enough to tolerate chickens I’ll remove it. In the brutal heat of summer they love to lay there. The digging was a problem so...we’ll see.

Is there a date on the seeds ? @Farmdog267 look for one may have been stuck with older seeds

One package was dated for 2017 which was a sealed pack I got from a co worker. She brought in a large bag of all kinds of seeds and said help yourself. Her husband works for Burpee seed company which is just a few miles away. The seeds were sealed, so hopefully more sprout. The other package was one that I purchased and was dated for 2019.

It is very enjoyable being able to get done work at 5-530pm and make it home in 35 minutes or so and still have nearly 45 minutes or longer to work outside! Opening day for MLB too so we are on the right track to warmer weather! Though it was cold enough over night for frost and I had to scrape my windshield again before leaving for work this morning.

I'm in the later of the 7-14 day germination period. Soil is getting enough water and the heat mats are on underneath along with the grow lights above. Hopefully I have magic soon! Everything else that is sprouting seems to be doing well; but it is still early on.
