What did you do in the garden today?

Here's a head scratcher. Sunday we had nice 76 degree weather, so I put the trays out in the real sun. Then back in the green house before the hail storm.

Over two days, 100% of the poppies died-75% of the milkweed died- 50% of the pinks, and all the just up san mateo tomatoes..... and this is really ODD. Out of a whole flat of cukes, one six pack died. Just ONE six pack. OK, so ODD right?

Did I plant varieties of vampire flowers and veggies?

Sorry for the terrible luck! The poppies too?!?! They seem to thrive in hot and bright sun!

i know! I just don't get it. I did nothing to them while they were out there. Nothing pee'd on them or anything. Just ODD!

Well, that is one definite thing to rule out when there is a mass plant death!

Here are my pepper and tomato starts that I'm eager to plant within the next few days!

12 varieties of peppers and 4 varieties of tomatoes!

Interestingly, the pepper plants in the upper left corner are so little! Planted the same time as the rest, but small! The largest tomato plants are purchased at a store, while most everything was started from seed at home.

So I have a friend who used red lights to start his tomatoes . He and another guy tried this . So they put them on the porch to Harden off . Both guys lost all their plants . So I think perhaps UV rays that maybe were not in the red lights . Anyway red lights = bad idea .

I use full spectrum

Red light is for greenery growth. Blue/violet for fruiting

By the time they go outside they should have been switched to full spectrum light.

How long did you leave them out? Could they have gotten shocked?
