I lost one of mine for months once, needed it working on a car no clue where it was.
Found it hanging from the fence of my small not so portable coop lol.

the chickens had dug next to the front door of their coop covering totally one of the pavers went to dig it out broke up the pack it made worms all over chicken feast express barely got out of their way wanted to do green tomatoes no way not big enough they are ealy girs should be larger by now you would think

YES!!!! Some Black Cherry tomatoes are getting red (well, as red as a black cherry can get). Not ready to pick, but looking good.

Yellow squash look good, picked 2 more this morning. But, yeah, they are quite crowded as I planted them too close together. I forgot how large the summer squash get as it’s been a long time since I grew any.

I think there may be a tiny baby muskmelon starting...we will see if it enlarges in the next week.

Still getting peas, and I’ll admit it is a hard decision whether to bring them in to eat, or to shell and toss into the run for the girls - so entertaining to watch them chase and compete for those little green peas!

Good morning gardeners. Yesterday was a busy day. Processed and froze 2 lbs. of peas. The lettuce I picked is in the basement refrigerator. I plan on juicing that today along with some other veggies. Got the garden weed whacked and most of the backyard mowed. It wasn't humid, but the sun was really intense. I took some pictures this morning before I picked more peas. I am amazed at how heat tolerant these peas are. Although they're not as sweet as I like, they are proving to be good producers. The plants got way bigger than advertised so I'm guessing they like my dirt. Everything is doing well except for the broccoli. Nice experiment, but I think I'll pass on it next year. I would like to know more about growing soybeans @Acre4Me. I like edamame but don't buy it often. All this talk about radishes got me looking through my bag of seeds and I found some icicle radish seeds which will be planted today. I need to water the garden this morning as the temps are going up near 90F both today and tomorrow and the next rain won't get here until late Thursday. Have a great day everyone.

That is amazing to hear you are still getting peas. I don't think I've ever got peas this late. I'm even starting to cut back some of the vines to let the "companion" plants have enough room to grow. Enjoy!

Edamame- yummy! We haven’t grown soybeans in years, but in the past they produced well (that home was about 100 miles south of where we are now). Can’t remember the variety this year, but it is meant for eating, purchased from Burpee, I’m pretty sure. So far not seeing pods, but they did flower, so I think pods might just be too small to see right now. Pick, then gently boil in salted water for about 6-8 min (depending on how firm you want them, you might even cook longer). Keep them in the pods. Then, when eating, just pop the soybeans out of the pods into your mouth! They are a bit sweet and nutty. My kids have always liked them, so it’s been a good option for our kids. Any leftovers get shelled and used in a salad next day.

Bush type. I don’t know if there are climbing types. I don’t recall seeing any in catalogues before. I’m pretty sure “Seed Savers” in Iowa or Kansas, I think has the seed saving/heritage type. Also I think Sandhill Preservation also has the heritage type -pretty sure I recall soybeans on their list.

I checked with Victory Seeds in Oregon and they have a number of varieties. All bush but the one with the shortest growing season gets to around 24 inches tall. That’s pretty good for a bush. Victory Seeds is where I got these pea seeds from.
