What did you do in the garden today?

I made another batch of corn & Cherry Tomato salsa ( 4 half pints), a batch of pasta sauce ( 5 or 6 pints) and a batch of zesty salsa ( 3 pints & 2 half pints). Got tomatoes all cut up and ready to can for tomorrow.
Then went to my friend's house and we canned pear jelly, and pears in cinnamon syrup and pears in cinnamon and rum syrup. We also recooked her apple jelly because it had not set either.
Picked some cherry tomatoes, green beans and a couple of small green peppers out of the garden today.
It was a pretty busy day! My niece said she wants to buy some salsa, apple pie jam, and some eggs from me. I have no idea how much to charge for a half pint of salsa or a half pint of apple pie jam. Any suggestions?

Good morning gardeners. I got a lot of painting done yesterday. Just need one more coat on a small part of the wall. I was also able to start painting the trim. It's so nice to look at walls that are not brown. I picked a few tomatoes this morning and some green beans. I think I will make a little tomato juice with the ripest tomatoes on hand. I really don't need any more sauce. I have 3 small bell peppers that should be ready to pick soon. Although the overnight temps were in the mid 40's today and tomorrow daytime temps are supposed to be warmer so I'm hoping for more ripening to happen. A suggestion for charging your niece @karenerwin, perhaps barter for something she can offer. If there's nothing tangible, perhaps she could run a few errands for you or help with taking your mother to an appointment or two. Just a thought. I may use your blender technique @jerryse when I make my tomato juice. It sounds like it would take less time than the way I've been doing it. Have a great day everyone.

I have a girl that's not feeling well. I thinks she laid a shellless egg in the run last night because I went to put them up & they wouldnt come, they were too busy eating it. She was staring into space, head tucked, butt fluffed all day & then seemed fine after. Then today there was a shelless egg in the box that they ate. I can only assume it was her. She seems fine now though. :idunno

Picked some tomatoes, got like 4 giant brandywines ready so were were having BLTs for dinner. Yum.

Finishing up electric to the coop today, hopefully get the trench filled back in.

& Getting my pallets put together for a compost bin. Hopefully the rain holds out, i have laundry on the line!
