Good morning all. Well the pumpkin in my avatar is only 1/3 full now. There were a few brave trick or treaters that showed up in spite of the high winds and sporadic showers. The winds were wicked bad last night and still kicking up now. School delays and some closings due to wind damage today. The temperatures are getting ready to plummet overnight and more seasonal temps in the forecast. I will be picking the rest of my leeks today. Yesterday I made another chicken saddle for one of my hens. The original I think is a bit too small for her and doesn't cover her back. I made a new one that is larger and put an extra layer of fill to protect her back a little better from the roosters advances. I thought my hens were pretty much finished with laying this season, however I got a total of 5 eggs yesterday. So apparently two of the hens are still laying occasionally. My indoor "garden" is looking good. I do think I need to amp up the humidity a bit more. My original poinsettia is starting to produce a ton of new leaves. This plant was a tiny gift 9 years ago. It has spawned 6 baby plants and has been going through a sad looking phase for about 2 years. It even has some blooms popping up on it. My big spider plant is putting out a bloom as well. Gearing up for a snowy winter it's nice to have some green (other than pine) to look at. Have a great day everyone.
