What did you do in the garden today?

Good snowy morning gardeners. Ok, I guess there's an alternate definition of two part storm because it started snowing at 2:30 pm yesterday and with 12 plus inches on the ground now and still snowing. I shoveled around 8:30 pm last night to lighten my morning "load" but there was quite a lot of the white stuff this morning to shovel through to the chicken coop. The wind is blowing now so there should be some drifting going on. Since this is not supposed to be over until noon tomorrow I'm curious as to the final tally on the snow depth. Some snow blew into the run so the chickens will have that to play with. I rearranged the plants in my sunroom and dragged my artificial tree out of the basement. It's setup now but will decorate later. The little discount store I go to already has seeds out for sale. I was tempted, but I want to wait. I have decided exactly what I'm planting this season. I feel bad because when I was doing my snow storm shopping I forgot to buy wild bird seed. I guess they wouldn't mind a little chicken scratch and some bread crumbs for now. Oh well. Stay warm everyone and have a great day.
Wow! That's a lot of snow!! Let us know what the final total amount is.

Morning all. Sunny and 45 today and for the rest of the week. We had a full blown ice storm last week and then snow. But it rained all of Friday and melted it all. I found a leak in my new expensive gutters. Grrrr.

Pacas are enjoying the pasture in the sunshine. I took some hay and dumped it down there so they can soak up the sun while they eat. Right now they're out there spread out on the hill sunbathing.

It looks nice enough to let the birds out, but they wouldn't stay. There is just enough wind to make them cold. SO inside they stay.

I have a huge list of chores, and have been bouncing between them and adding things to the etsy cyber Monday sale.

Must eat lunch before I get bitey. LOL.

Have a great day all.

I gave the last garden cucumber to the chickens this morning and the last of the heirloom tomatoes got chopped to top tacos tonight. Never had cucumbers this late in the season although many years ago I had a few tomatoes in December. From here on out it's just cabbage, kale and swiss chard for which I'm really grateful. Especially when in the stores it's 3 to 5 bucks for a handful of gnarly wilted greens!

Most stores are awful do you ever go to Chehalis Fullers grocery actually has nice produce
I haven't been to Chehalis other than passing it on I-5. lol We have a couple of high end grocery stores here that sell wonderful greens but they are horribly expensive. Every time I go out and pick my own it makes me feel just a little smug! Haha! :)
