What did you do in the garden today?

@igorsMistress, we ordered Welsummer, Light Brahma, and Buff Orpington. The one that may not have been set are Red Dorking. So, our back up breed will be EE bc my kid really likes them, but wants some darker feathered ones. We got 2 EE from them in 2018, and they have attained “keep-till-die” status. In 2019 we got 4 EE, and two of them we really like, the other 2 we will likely sell soon as they don’t stand out much and haven’t been laying many eggs.

Almost done with the Dala Horse. I had to come in and warm up ( I refuse to turn on the shop heat 42degrees now) and let a layer dry, and take some sinus meds. Looking good. I have a black layer, and another white layer to go.
The Base, which is concrete colored, is drying on the other side of the shop. I am hoping to start putting poly on it tonight. I'll turn the heat up a bit for that and spend tomorrow adding layer after layer of polycoat. Oh, and I need to label the back before that.
Think I'll let the birds out here for a bit.

I loved my Wellie! She was such a sweet girl. I hope you like them all. What is a red dorking?

Good morning all!!!
Beautiful horse @WthrLady absolutely fantastic!
Sorry about your little sweetie @Acre4Me but glad you get to keep the grom home for some recovery time. Hope all is well asap.
Garden looks fabulous!!! @igorsMistress love, love, love!!! I want to try potatoes like you do them. Super smart
Sorry about the big winter blast all. Baking sounds awesome. I don't get to do much of that and I like to bake but just too hot here. Enjoy for me!!!
New chicks sounds so exciting!!! Oh how I would love to order more <3<3<3
My bantam is still happily sitting- almost 1 week down, 2 + to go. I'm excited to see little 1/2 versions of my girls.
It is the strangest thing that both my little wild girls, the ones I ALWAYS have to go hunt down their eggs have settled at home because of getting a roo of our own. Bantam #2 laid in the nest box yesterday. Total shocker. I expect she will go broody soon too, she has that look and history.
We have sun today and a cool NW breeze. I can feel spring around the corner and I can see it too- so hold tight folks, you all will be in up to your elbows in dirt and garden bliss soon.

DH went to glue a pipe at the ranch while feeding the horses this morning, then he is off to pick up MIL. She comes in at 10:30 today instead of Friday... (I try to stay out of the family confusion as much as possible) so I am home cleaning and getting ready for the visit.
I walked the yard and got some green photos for you all. It is always so beautiful after a rain and my photos do not due justice, but their is NO snow in the photos and that in itself may be refreshing.
