Those are my seedlings. Tomatoes, eggplants, cabbage, herbs, additional salad greens. We start them outside in the jugs rather than inside. It's called winter sowing. What are all the bottles for in the second picture?
Last year, I had some problems with the ferret’s raid into the duck shed, the surviving ducks were relocated to the stable where goats live, the ferret does not go there because he is afraid of goats, the ducks are safe there. Now I do not eat ducks and restore livestock.Baby ducks are awesome! I might decide to incubate duck eggs one of these days. Our ducks are grown and laying. I'm thinking about hatching and growing for meat.
Thank you. I am pretty tore up with sadness, frustration, guilt and of course... my favorite, anger. You sharing your experience really helps my heart. It is good to be safe among chicken lovers. The rest of the world just not seem to understand lol.@TropicalBabies. My heart is heavy for you. I've been in the same situation. Before we moved here, we lived on a 3 acre rental. Our chickens were free-range and several died questionably. Then we caught the dog in the act and hubby worked hard on training him. We thought all was OK until about a year later. I came home from the grocery store and the kids were screaming about the dog tossing the chickens in the air. He killed 3 out of my 4 Araucanas. Some dogs just have no business being around chickens. Needless to say, we had to re-home him like Biscuit. Sending you hugs from Cali - its difficult situation to deal with![]()
