What did you do in the garden today?

View attachment 2124479This is the raised bed my hubby built for me. Now to dig out the sod and use it elsewhere. Then to fill the bed. Hubby read about putting logs in the bottom to take up volume, so we plan to do that too.

If you have some on hand, lay cardboard down on the bottom of the bed. That looks really awesome Karen.

@Acre4Me did you get asparagus root crowns or something else? That will make a difference in the answer. The crowns don’t need to be hardened off. I planted mine in full sun.

They wanted to help but I finally had to put them in the house because I couldn’t get anything done.

We cut some lettuce and ate salads with our dinner. That's about all we did in the gardens today.

here are the asparagus plants. No, not dill, although they look like it. Guessing these aren’t crowns!

@nao57 I’m zone 6A and my plants go out every day, in at night right now (except strawberries and potatoes already planted and growing).

Do irises do anything other than satisfy grandparents? My parents like them, but nobody seems to know if they do anything for the soil, or etc....?
