Hey glad there’s other people with a lot of time on their hands, lol. Today I found a pair of conjoined twin zucchini, a lucky toad who’s might make my zucchini plant home, and I beat the horse to the first of the ripe Mesquite beans.View attachment 2212987View attachment 2212988View attachment 2212989
That’s the plan, I bake a lot so I’ll be substituting some of the regular flour with it. Might try to make some “coffee” with it or apparently you can make ice cream and beer also so that’ll be an interesting project. Especially since I was already thinking about making wild dewberry mead, since I have about six gallons from May and I’m going to need the space for my fall produce. And I’m in Central Texas.Very interesting! What are you going to do with the mesquite beans? I read you can make flour and they are super good for you protein/carb ratio?? All kine good stuffs but never bothered with them myself cept tasting because the horses are crazy for them. I don't like them to have too many if can we help it because of the chance of colicing. They are EVERYWHERE on our westside.
Love the Zucchini and LUCKY toad
Welcome and where are you at?

Welcome to tge gardening thread. While I'm not in the southern hemisphere I have similar growing conditions. Right now I'm just maintaining my shrubs and flowers but planning for fall!Hi all!! This is the first year I have actually planned and started a garden in my very own house. years ago when I was living at home we had lots of veggies and fruit growing but my grandfather was the main green thumb holder and I just helped. Super happy to be growing food for my family and I'm very very excited to be able to take some over to my grandfather since he is no longer able to keep a garden.
I'm in the southern hemisphere so I started my garden in Autumn/fall as we have very mild winters but hot summers...
Anyway today I finish preparing some more beds (I'm using raised garden beds for a lot of my plants) so tomorrow I can plant what I have raised from seed in my green house. I also thinned some more carrots which my children instantly took off me and ate, again I missed out.
Definitely a cat, possums aren’t that quick, and the hips are too high and tail too fluffy. And the tail is too bendy looking to be a fox.Aargh! Racoon saga continues. Nothing on cams for 2 nights, then last night we get a large raccoon - or maybe more than one. A cat and then an unknown predator - another cat? a opossum? @WthrLady or anyone else - any thoughts? It's irritating bc my chickens aren't laying very well right now, probably due to predator stress.
What is this one? not sure what a opossum would look like and if they run like this.

Looks like a cat? I don't recognize this cat, it it is... Maybe its too big for a cat? Not many dogs around here. Too light for a coyote.
