What did you do in the garden today?

Good morning gardeners. Happy Veteran's Day to all of you who haved served this great nation. And thank you @Sueby for remembering as well. I'm a bit worn out from yesterday. I cleaned the gutters on the back of the house and got most of the leaves and pine needles blown out of the yard. I'll suck the rest of them up with my leaf vaccum attachment so I can pile them in a few of the garden beds. I've hit a bit of a snag on my interior renovation projects. I had been waiting for an email quote from my contractor, however I got a text from him letting me know he was in the hospital with a heart attack. What a shock, he's under 40 years old. I can still move on to the stuff my daughter and I were planning to tackle while he recovers. I have everything I need to paint the living room so after I'm totally finished with the outside cleanup I'm finally ripping the wall paper out of that room. After nearly two years, the house across the street from me was finally sold. Thank goodness. The house needs a lot of work and the new owner has not wasted anytime getting started. I think they are doing the roof today. I'm really happy that after nearly 3 years, my begonia is starting to bloom. Just one bloom and it hasn't fully opened yet. The impatiens I brought indoors seem to be settling into their winter homes. They are both blooming so I'm guessing they are somewhat happy. Fingers crossed! :fl Have a great day everyone.

Morning all. Happy Veterans Day & thanks to our Vets! I know @Wee Farmer Sarah is a Vet - do we have any others here in the garden thread?

It's like hot & humid out. :gig But I hear the word snow on the news so...
Supposed to rain later.

I forgot to bring in the Dahlias, I HAVE to do that this morning.

Have a great day all.

Happy Veterans Day!

lots of restaurants offer free meals to vets today, and other perks available too at other places!

my oldest is active duty, so not yet a vet!

She can still take advantage of the freebies for Vets. I get emails from the VA. I usually get a haircut and lunch at Olive Garden but this year I'm staying home. The free meals are only if you dine in, so I'm not sitting down inside while the covid rate is skyrocketing.

I'm an old army vet. Soon it will be time to plant but we are getting rain off and on from Eta. We can use it here. We are seriously downsizing this year. It's too hot here in the summers to garden so ours is in the winter months. We start with plants that can tolerate some frost should we get any. This is me around 50 years ago. No camo back then. We were the green machine.
