What did you do in the garden today?

Thank you @WthrLady - I should go dig some up since it's 50 plus degrees out & the ground is thawing. Maybe Sunday I can get it out.

Tree guys are here - yay! The guy in the bucket is not happy that he can't drop the branches since he's over the chicken pen. I can here him out there complaining. :gig

Too bad he did not go head long in the chicken poo

They did a great job cleaning up everything & keeping it off the bird netting. They trimmed a bunch of pine trees over the netting too that you can't really see there. It's unfortunate but as he got higher into the big tree he found that it's totally split at the top, rotted inside & has some type of orange fungus (guess that's why it's dead). I guess it happens, I had 3 guys look & everyone said it was healthy. They'll be back in January to take it all down. Kinda stinks cuz that's the shade for the coop. Oh well.

@Fishychix I hate to say it but that was my clue something was wrong too - tons of dead branches coming down all the time. Good luck, big trees are wonderful but evil at the same time, lol.

Morning all. All around us managed a hearty 3+inches of snow, but living above this city sized lake, which is still not frozen, gave us a warmer layer and turned a lot of our snow to freezing rain and ice. So we ended up with a messy, icy 1.5 inches. I'll take it. I'm sick of snow and cold, and we really haven't had any yet this year.

My truck had a senior moment yesterday. I think one of the electric terminals is dirty. I know, on my truck?, Unheard of. Snort.

So off to the shop it goes on Thursday. New struts, shocks, oil change....gonna be a pricey visit. HO HO HO

Yum - every Thanksgiving, bacon (cut into small pieces), cooked in a cast iron skillet. Add halved Brussel sprouts. Cook till browned somewhat, still a slight bit of crunch. Yum! Even the kid will eat them.

However, this year kid says, "I don't like Brussel Sprouts". Me: "Hmm, you've said you liked them in the past". Kid: repeat above. Me: "But, you don't hate them, you just don't prefer them...". Kid: rolls eyes and says nothing. Me to spouse: "Maybe we should boil some Brussel Sprouts so kid can have some kind of reference for how much they do or don't like the ones quick cooked in pan with bacon". Kid: dirty look to parents, followed by rolled eyes. Might have to boil some Brussel Sprouts, what do you think? Kid is early teen, not a young kid - the boiled Brussel Sprouts experience might scar a young kid :lau
I'm catching up on this thread. I haven't been on in a bit... We just had Brussels sprouts this way the other day with steak and lime cilantro quinoa. The only difference with the sprouts is we add chopped onion in with the bacon.

I hear that @WthrLady - I just spent an hour sitting in the car, on the lift, in the shop. It's been acting a little funny lately & threw the check engine light yesterday. DH needed me in the car running thru the gears to get the turbo to spool so he could find the leak. That was nerve racking - sitting in it as high up as the lift would go with the pedal floored. Glad it's fixed & that's over! :sick

For a winter where we aren't supposed to get any snow our 3rd & 4th plowable storms are on the way this week. :idunno Looks like a white Christmas here.
