What did you do in the garden today?

Not much happened in the garden. Started on a small fence around where I’m planting the peas. Just high enough to keep out the rabbits.

I came down sick yesterday so after working a full day, I had DH take me to the doctor. They tested for COVID, Flu, and Strep. All came back negative but they sent off a PCR test. Won't get those results until Monday. Needless to say, I stayed in bed all Friday night and today. It's cold and raining so not much to do outside anyway.

I do need to figure out if I'm going to start any seeds indoors and get that situated

Only 30 days until things really kick off for the spring gardens here.....

What is a PCR test?
Really, only 30 days for Arkansas!! I'm in Missouri so I feel like we should be not to long after you! I haven't even started any seeds yet, it just seems too early. We are just now getting snow. (Usually we get some in November and December as well as January and February).
The guy that works near me (next area over) ON Fridays called my manager told specifically to have him tell me and my coworker that he just tested positive for Covid. He was at work yesterday. He is very good about maintaining distance and wearing a mask, so hopefully we are good as well. As A forklift driver didn't come in this weekend because he also tested positive for Covid. We talk to both of these guys and are nearish to them but not real close and not in close proximity for long periods. So fingers crossed!
We had rain all day today ( but I was at work, so I didn't really care. LOL). Tomorrow around 3:00 in the afternoon we might get more snow.
Next weekend we are looking at low temps in the single digits.

The PCR test is the covid test that takes longer to run and is FAR FAR FAR more accurate than the quickie tests that are out there.

Tonight's recipe: White Chicken Chili. Mmm..mmm..yum!
I keep meaning to try making some white chili, the one time I had some it was great, but I just bought all the ingredients to make some red chili so that's what I'll be doing tomorrow. DP won't touch it but all the more for me and it freezes just fine :). Hot chili on a cold wet day is so nice!

Good frosty morning all. The chili is sounding real good even this early. I did make a large pot of vegetable beef soup on Friday so there's plenty left for lunches. This was the last morning of our deep freeze thank goodness. It was -2F at 6:30 this morning. There wasn't much wind so the wind chill wasn't all that bad. It's warming up to 27F today then tomorrow we get a Nor'easter starting up early afternoon that is supposed to last into Tuesday afternoon after dumping 14 inches of snow on us. We'll get 2 days of clear skies before a 4 day snow. Winter has definitely arrived. I'm struggling to keep the humidity level up in the house and the houseplants are suffering from the dryness. The large planter with impatiens is doing well, however the smaller impatien plant and the bay laurel are not looking so good. I put them both right next to the humidifier hoping that will help. It's time to crank up another humidifier. I use the 4 inch landscape timbers from the big box store for some of my raised beds. I used them in the garden at my former house and they lasted at least 8 years. They were still in good shape when I sold the house.
