What did you do in the garden today?

I can’t get strawberry plants to thrive. :hu One made it through the winter to die in the spring. This will be the year!!

Put the seed potatoes out to green up today and raked more pine straw. It’s the never ending task around here right up there with dishes, laundry and weeding. I’m looking at ordering a green house to put my starts in. I’ve just got too many to keep in the house this year. Now I’ve just got to decide how to keep it warm enough.

Well, can you put a small compost pile in there?

I think it’s to small for that it’s about 5x5. I was wondering if I could use one of the heat lamps that I used for my chicks and a fan.
Try a milk house heater . Not very expensive and is thermostatically controlled . Adjust the dial until you find the temp you like . Mine has 3 settings .

My garden isn't just the raised beds, nor the green house or even Mother earth herself.. It extends into a spare bedroom sometimes.. Somewhere along the lines of 150 cuttings.. Mostly fig 14 types, but also Elderberry, gojiberry, aronia berry, blackberry, and a few plum and grape.. IIRC, lol..

Those heaters are good and I use them too, be sure to run it on 1200 watts and not the higher 1500 watts on the dial, it'll keep the cord cool and the household safer..
