What did you do in the garden today?

DS (4yo) and I planted 150 starter cells with flowers today. We planted anise hysop, columbine, marigolds and decurrent false aster.

There are many tulips that come up side of the house made certain laying the pavers to the coops did not block them they are great come back every year

I never thought about what runners would look like in water. I figure they would look strange since they stand so upright on land, but they are quite beautiful in their pond.

and they love to swim and dive! I used to sit and watch mine for no idea how long. time just stops when I am around my animals.

Keeping track of where Spring flowing bulbs are is a real tricky thing. We have tulips, daffodils, crocus and alliums across the front of the house and around the one side. Anytime I'm working in those beds in the late Summer or Fall it's Russian roulette for the bulbs due to their lack of foliage at that time. I also struggle to figure out where to plant more in the Fall, because I forgot to mark spots while the flowers are in bloom.

New goal for 2021 - have a dill plant that grows at all! As long as I've been gardening, you'd think I'd have it down by now, but this property, what is basically a flood plain, has always been a challenge.

Our are much easier to locate than that .. There is tree most seem to be grouped there

I don’t always remember to plant dill, but when I did I planted it around and the same time as my cucumbers. In my garden that seemed to work for me getting cukes and dill for pickling at the same time. For a few years I let the dill self sow, that was the very best but eventually they got weeded out because they didn’t necessarily come up where I wanted them.
I bought seeds last year and lost the packet at planting time, but found it so I’m going to try again this year. I’m going to try and hedge my bets and plant some quite early then some when the cukes go in. I think cold weather won’t bother the seeds, considering the fact that dill is used in Northern European recipes a lot. Just keeping track of where I plant them will be a job.
Sorry for all the yada yada yada, but you got me to thinking and scheming!

I have never been able to perenial it dies off it is dead
Even my Swiss chard is still going second year for it
