What did you do in the garden today?

yep, some people even say not to let strawberries fruit their first year to force the plants to focus on the roots.
I've got 50 strawberry plants in a box in the utility room I should be peeking at again soon.. The fig cutting will form figlets which I carefully pinch off.. Just for the reason you mentioned..

I'm considering moving my strawberries

I think they should be with the other perennials probably

very very quick sketch but the black is a fenced in garden area.

the lines below that are terraced because our land isnt flat with a row of blueberries (blue), 2 rows of grapes (green) and a section for raspberries (red)

and then past that and farther to the right (orange blob) are 2 peach trees, a plum tree and an apple tree.

Good morning gardeners. I fertilized the veggies this morning and am going to transplant the squash and luffa today. My head is screaming and bending over makes it throb, but it’s quiet outside. Maybe the cool air for a while will help, i might go ahead and clean up the duck house too, everything need a good stir and probably another layer of flakes. Going to have hubs take me to TWC for pine shavings later too. Have a good day all.

I'm sorry to hear about people's aches. Hope you all feel better soon.

I'm sick of the bitter cold too. A week from today, we could have a high of 23, and that sounds absolutely balmy. But before then, we could have -3.

So far, the chickens have been fine. I've been putting a dish of snow in their coop the last three days. They like to eat snow more than they like to go out in the cold to drink water in the heated water bowl.

I haven't gone up to the green house since the deep freeze took hold. I probably won't have the nerve to go look until temps moderate, or we get a clear sunny day to warm it up in there. Sorry, spinach.

I have a lot to do today while it’s warm. The the cold front hasn’t reached us yet. Its supposed to move in Thursday/Friday. My asparagus seeds have sprouted I’m so glad they they did I’ve nearly killed several other things that are new for this year like rosemary.
Rosemary you almost have to neglect. I almost killed mine with too much love.
