What did you do in the garden today?

Oh my lord I know what that is male or female ? won't use the other words Frenchi 🧦🦓
Male. I'm hoping his desire to chew isn't as bad as my now deceased Old English Bulldog. He was my favorite dog, but cost me a lot of furniture. This one will definitely be crate trained.

Good afternoon gardeners. We got a small bit of rain this morning, just enough to get stuff wet but that’s about it. I didn’t do anything outside but let the ducks out, pre teen drama  Anyway, it stayed cool, not as cool as predicted I’m sure, but the wind picked up and a sweatshirt was necessary. I wore my fleece undershirt with my sweatshirt and a fleece vest plus a ball cap to run to walmart in the golf cart early this morning, I love that thing! Then cleaned house, made some bread and cookies, then watched a movie and played with the pups.Tomorrow is the day for yard work, it’s supposed to be quite pleasant. Have a great night all.

New countertop oven arrived today. My old one made it 6 years before dying, which is good since it cost as much as a full sized oven. I just use the smaller size SO much more than the regular oven with just two or three of us here.

The new one was half the cost of the old and is larger and has French doors. SO much nicer.

Cookies in there now,

Oh you got the Oster? Let me know how you like it, I've been torn between it and the Ninja.

Today, I dug out my car. Poor gutless wonder was surrounded by two foot drifts, but she managed to hop over some ice and get out of her spot with a little help.

Still waiting on the spinach.

YUP
It replaced the Breville Delux Digital Smart oven. I've owned two of those over 10years, and both times they ran like workhorses until the convection fans gave out.

I really am already enjoying the Oster. It's even larger than the Breville. I being used to French doors on commercial oven, I can't tell you how many time I burned my hands on the darn Breville door. The Oster fits large pizzas, two at a time, and all my standard bakeware, as well as my dutch oven.

So far the ONLY thing I'm not liking, but it's workable, is to get the time set, you just hold the up or down arrow until you get there instead of typing it in. No big deal.

@WthrLady Honestly the potential to burn myself is the reason I haven't gone for it yet. I'm clumsy by nature, in a weird sort of way that rarely results in serious injury, but do tend to bump into things and worry I'll shut a dang hot door on myself. I've been cooking SOLELY with an Emeril model borrowed from SIL and like it.... but it's small. It doesn't fit the big pizzas, and it can't handle a full size cookie sheet. I've been amazed at what can be cooked in an 8x8 pan so long as you're willing to cook in batches. :hmm

The strawberry runner is not dying... nor is it thriving. Hmm. Time will tell.

morning, got some more bags of compost yesterday but weather to rough to spread on veg beds ,using peat free so see how that goes .made about 50 paper pots for seeds last night while watching tele ,hope i,ve made enough but i doubt it.going to start leeks, carrots ,radishes, spring onions ,beans and peas .got onion sets ready to put in have to do that soon they,re starting to sprout ,so are the pots but the ground is so wet i don,t want to do that too soon and they end up rotting . roll on warmer drier weather !

do you start beans in pots and transplant later? I have never heard they can be transplanted.

:D Guess what? I’ve never germinated a seed before, but once you guys told me the ā€œwhy,ā€ I tried it with a store tomato. Today I have growth!!!!! :wee Too bad I don’t have potting soil. I’m hoping the soil I have in a bucket outside works. I remember it’s part potting soil, but can’t remember where I got the other stuff from.

don't worry. my mother as well as my granny never used potting soil. it didn't exist but garden did.
