What did you do in the garden today?

I understand a drain hole, but not the hole in the stand. What am I missing?

I would have done it sooner, but rain, snow, rain, out of gas, dead battery. I’ve lost two batteries out of three for the weed whacker, and the push mower still needs replaced. As does the roof, windows, garage doors...
I get it! Need some new windows, patch the siding and the roof here. No time and money can only be stretched so far.

I covered my strawberries last night, but didn't need to. I will need to the next three nights, as it's supposed to be in the 20s -- gulp.

It rained a bit, which is ok. But I wish it were warm enough to go out and dig up more grubs for the chickens. I'm fighting the urge to take a nap.

Has anyone here ever grown potatoes from actual potato seed?

Never tried the seeds. I've seen them available online, but not sure how well they perform. I wonder if the seeds produce tubers the first year or if they or more inclined to produce tubers later as a they would have the opportunity to due in their native climate in the Andes Mountains.
