Do eggplant need support? Just planted two for the first time
I haven't grown them in a long time, but I used to put a tomato cage around them. Same with peppers. When they're little, the cage keeps me from stepping on them.

I think they do if heavy with fruit. We have a cattle panel attached with T-posts running over most of the straw bale garden. I'll tie them up as needed.Do eggplant need support? Just planted two for the first time
I think powdery. There isn't anything on the undersides of the leaves and it rubs off like powder. Recipe please?

Given that it will be up by our house, I know my husband will be really particular that it has to look nice. In the garden, he wouldn't care....but around the house he wants everything to look really clean cut and decorative.
where are you now?Aaaand nightshade grows wild here. Yikes. Glad I have a plant app on my phone. I was walking around thinking "Oh pretty purple flowers, I wonder what they are?" Then had my eyes just about bug out of my head when I saw nightshade in the result. Yeah, I'm going to have DH or my dad pull those up, while wearing gloves, and dispose of them. They're considered a noxious weed, so I imagine it'll be a good fight to keep them out.
Today the toddler discovered what fire ants are, and why we don't poke them. Poor little guy.
