What did you do in the garden today?

baah what's a little blood of love in the dinner bread loaf? IT shows how much you CARE !! :D

Yah those cheap gloves that turn you colors when they get wet. We had raincoats at work one day like that. They got some cheap crap from china, picture a bright, make your eyes bleed bright orange raincoat, that when gets wet.. turns everything wearing it, international orange color...... Yah there were a whole bunch of PO'd employees at that one.

They are a bit more expensive but shelling out the money for the better stuff is worth it, especially once you slice yourself through the cheap stuff, or end up with a hair doo that's a color not normally found in nature.

Aaron.

I use both... My leather gloves are missing. Pretty sure DH stole them and they are buried somewhere in his shop. So I bought some new ones from Lowe's but they are a red/black/white leather mix. I broke them in one day recently when it was God awful humid outside. They turned my fingers black and pink. So I've been wearing nylon gloves inside the leather gloves. 🙄
Ya. I have a pink leather pair that did that.

work, work, work...too busy with work today to even walk outside. I plan on going out in about 2 hrs. I believe I have another 6-8 large tomatoes, handful of okra, and possibly a few cukes ready to pluck. Need to go out and check for eggs as well, both Pullets are getting close to POL. Will be very excited to get our first eggs. It has been a struggle for us, last year we lost our flock of 4 to a family of raccoons and this year 2 of our 4 have died (one as a 2 day old and one last weekend). So fingers crossed.

I like using the mechanics gloves when working outside, they have the rubber dipped grips and hold up well against briars but fit better than the leather gloves which means less taking off and putting back on when tying up supports, etc. They are also quite a bit cheaper than the leather ones.

  Children need to be protected from farm animals. Even adults need to be careful. I watched a YouTube video where some "homesteading" guy was attacked by his boar hog and it nearly killed him. They butchered the hog while the husband was in the hospital recovering.
Yes, they didn't stay long after they started doing that. Should have had them cut, but we didn't. We later had an attack turkey named Buddy for a while. I had the boys giggling in the deer blind when I texting that i thought I accidentally killed him by knocking him in the head with a shovel in self defense. He was just knocked out for a bit and went back to his old ways. He got locked up after that.
