What did you do in the garden today?

What make and model do you have?
It's a Kenmore series 500 High efficiency/auto load-sensing. We got it two years ago, and from what I remember, the series 500 came in two different sizes, and we bought the bigger one. We got a big discount because our local Sears was going out of business, so I'm not sure if these are still available.
Here's the controls, and when doing horse blankets I put the middle dial on "bulky/bedding" the rinse dial on "two rinses" and the stain boost "on."

This is what the interior looks like, the outside drum turns at one speed, and depending on the settings, the outside bottom circle goes back and forth at its own speed and the mini-agitator on the bottom inside goes the opposite. It fits so much larger loads than what could fit in the same sized drum with an old-school tall agitator.

I'd have to peruse the manual to share more details, but when I do average loads of clothes on a normal setting it uses a lot less water and the load comes out a lot cleaner. Doing extreme things like horse blankets, I set it to the most water and the most extra rinsing possible, then afterwards do a "clean out the washer" cycle with bleach, while it's empty.
A bit of effort, but so much affordable than sending out my horse blankets to my local place.

@igorsMistress they are awesome and sweet! I hope your eyes get better. :hugs

@TJAnonymous I hope you are better soon. :hugs

Of all the things I wanted to get done, only the apple butter is getting done. The house smells soooo good. Ambulance came and picked up one of the neighbors for the third time since they got covid. They don't keep them since the hospitals are overflowing and their kids who also have covid have to go and pick them up and bring them home again. I can't imagine what it must be like.
Thanks! My eyes will be better after surgery, I’m still waiting for that. Irritating I assure you!

Plus the poor customer service, the slow cashiers, the other customers...I just flat out hate walmart.
We work nights, so we used to have amazingly good customer service going to our nearby Walmart between 2-3 a.m. When we bought our first smart TV, there were very few other shoppers, and we lucked out that the customer service person we talked to actually knew a lot about the products she was selling. She also recommended some good shows that we enjoyed streaming. Unfortunately, since then our local Walmart quit being open 24 hours, due to too many methheads and other crazies causing scenes, so we don't shop there any more.

I remember… Seriously, I remember the first time I went to a Walmart in 1998. They weren’t open 24 hours, and were not super centers. They sold crappy clothes though that didn’t last a day. Still do.
I bought my washer from Sears, and it arrived banged up. I was supposed to be refunded $2,000 for keeping it, but customer service swore they didn’t have that in their records. Btw, I use the “pause” feature all the time. She uses it more. :love

Just finished canning all my broth and waiting for the pressure to go down. I had a turkey carcass from april and a roo carcass from august to use up. Only made about 4.5 pints so I'm gonna use up the half on dinner tonight. I dont use broth too much so I'm not bummed about how little it made. I just dont like that its an all day thing to make it. Now to just dry out my canner and put it up until next season. Its a good feeling

That is almost identical to my new Whirlpool .

Good morning gardeners. It's so good to see you back, even briefly @igorsMistress. You have been missed. I wish you all the best with your impending surgery. Congrats on the new washer @jerryse. A little busy already, picked more beans and tomatoes this morning and got the bread started. I managed to find room for all the unprocessed peaches between my two refrigerators. We got 2 inches of rain yesterday and I'm hoping the front yard at least dries out enough to mow later. Taking a break this weekend and visiting a large estate in Ipswich, Massachusetts. DD and I are also going to one of the most popular clam shops there. Looking forward to that. It will be good to get away and smell something other than peaches. My lima beans are looking good and blooming like crazy. I just hope the beans mature before we get frost. My dear lonely butternut squash is ripening. Yay! I'll likely buy a few at the Farmers Market and freeze them for later use. The okra plants are full of pods, just a little slower to mature with the cooler temperatures. I really need to take the time to clean the garage. The wood pellets should be arriving soon. I'm getting a wee bit stressed thinking about it all on top of the winter preps for the chicken coops and runs.

My garden is officially quadrupled in size from when I started to plan it (by laying out cardboard from moving)! My husband helped me spread the last of the cardboard, water the cardboard, a
spread the last of the straw, and tie the hose to a stake to water it all on Monday. It was nice because it took so much less time with 2 people, instead of 1.
I look forward to my first growing season in this house!

Our apple trees are sad. I've seen so many trees around that are LOADED with apples, and ours have only produced and dropped a few handfuls of rotten/bug-damaged apples. Do those of you with apple trees have any advice on how to get an actual harvest next year?

Garden math. It's for real. Bummer about your apples. :hmm

So the damage on my grape matches Japanese Beetle damage. Guess I need to find the time to check it out more closely and see what's up.
