Well... looks like we're too far south for the lightshow. Ah well. Have to put it on my bucket list, along with Hawaii.

Nah, earth only had a glancing blow and the main part of the event was 10UTC over Finland and the Atlantic.
There is still a chance for some tonight at higher latitudes. I'll be clouded in though. Oh well.

When I was cleaning the yard two weeks ago, I found several wandering around lost where the russian sage I had cleared had been. I put them on the sweatshirt as a found them. (It was a chilly morning, and they were sluggish.) The intent was to finish my chores and then relocate them to the garden where they could finish the season eating and laying egg sacs.
Then the siding guys showed up.
The look on this face at me with 8 or so primal bugs on me, LOL.
I plucked one off and offered it to him to see it closer and he'd have nothing to do with it. ::roll eyes::

Today they said the job was done but I disagree. Now I gotta take it up with the general contractor. Broken tiles, Mortar was supposed to set before grouting but grout was put on ASAP. No sealant on grout, stuff like that.

Broken tiles? Really?? SMH.

So yesterday I saw a red tailed hawk takeoff from the woods with something in its talons . A squirrel .

Picked a big bag of green and greenish tomatoes this morning so I'm with you @littledog, relish and salsa canning today and maybe tomorrow. I love your pictures and your mantis! That was one of the big surprises we got when we moved here, 95% of Oregon doesn't have a native and abundant preying mantis population but this area does and we love them. And dang, @WthrLady, I'd have loved a picture of your mantis adorned sweatshirt!

I found an “elderly” looking mantis -grey with grey/white variations. Moving slowly bc it was cool. I was cleaning up out there, so put with some other plants.

I planted a bunch of cool weather stuff in the green house: Kale, spinach, radishes, peas, beets, and lettuce. I have some old seed that either will sprout, or not, and no biggie if it doesn't. Most of this stuff will be greens for the chickens as I thin it out.
