What did you do in the garden today?

Good morning gardeners. Happy New Year! We were in bed early, around 1900 hours, and I stayed there until 0600 this morning! No garden today, but I ordered true comfrey seed and three Russian comfrey Bocking 4 cuttings which says it can survive 120* temps. Have a great day!

I ordered a night blooming jasmine and some moonflower seeds today :yesss:

Sorry for your loss. Such a nice picture, I had to include it in my post. I had a dog like that when I was a young kid. We grew up together and I still have many great memories of him.
:hugsThat’s rough, I’m so sorry for your loss. We are blessed and cursed with our fur babies. They bring so much joy and happiness but live such short lives compared to us. She knows you love her even still.

Expecting a light freeze tonight And tomorrow night. Light freezes normally do not do much damage but Covering up young citrus and other tropical trees as a precaution. Also put covering on the "temporary" greenhouse for the stuff in pots. 3rd year for this GH so it might be the last. Tubing getting bent and covering is showing it's age. Wish me luck with the freeze

We lost our dog Lily today. Here's the beautiful girl:
What a sweet girl, I'm so sorry for your loss. She loved you and was loved and knows you did the best for her.
Wish me luck with the freeze
Good luck, we had a little frost this morning but it rarely freezes hard here let alone snow. A fact DP and I are very glad of.

Happy New Year to you all! We stayed up till midnight but it was a struggle for me. I made a big nacho for lunch and we munched on it all day and into the evening. Now there's a crock pot of black-eyed peas with ham hocks going. DP's mother was a big believer in eating it on New Year's Day so it makes DP happy. There's some blanched kale to add at the last minute and I'll make a batch of rice later. I've received four seed catalogs now, Johnny's, Territorial, and 2 from Burpee so I'll be needing some alone time. ;)

Finally good weather, 60 and sunny. Lot of shoveling today, I pulled out one of my metal raised beds and replaced it with wood (old fence boards) so I can take the metal one when I move. I found a sweet potato growing underneath the gopher wire 16 inches down so it's just as well I dug it all out. The new bed is a little smaller so I topped off a different bed with the extra soil and will plant leeks there tomorrow. I am spent for today.

Stuffed peppers are in the crockpot and I pulled a bag of figs out of the freezer to make fig cobbler for breakfast.

I am making these cute Gnome ornaments. My sister-in-law said, “you’re a bit late, aren’t you?”!
I laughed and said, “ No, I’m getting an early start on next Christmas!” 🤣🤣
