The adult form is a white butterfly . They are common here and I am not that far from you . So when you see the white butterflies around it is time to treat brassicas with BT . I quit growing brassicas because of cabbage worms .

Most sources I found state that the cabbage looper is the Ni Moth larva. Ni Moths are a mottled brown/tan.

I almost ordered the blue cream berry tomatoes. Have you grown them before?

No, this will be my first time growing any of those tomatoes, except the Romas... Last year I grew Purple Cherokee, Bradley, Super Fantastic, Celebrity, Yellow Brandywine, and cherry tomatoes. Out of all of those, we liked the Bradley tomatoes best.... Made lots of salsa. This year I'd like to can some sauce in addition to salsa. Plus I want some good & interesting varieties for fresh eating which is mostly what I got the seeds for.

I have both, white and brown. we have a lot of wild mustard on the island.

I tried to grow different coloured tomatoes. although they look great I find that only red and orange tomatoes are tasty and yellow pear are good for fresh salad as well. the same thing with broccoli and lettuce. I find only the green ones are tasty while the purple ones are somewhat dry. is there anyone that agrees or it is me only?

I have tried a number of different tomatoes over the past several years. I will say that in some cases I agree and in others I've had different experience. There was a large yellow smooth skinned (not pleated) tomato that we grew at our old house one year. It was absolutely delicious and grew a lot of fist sized tomatoes. I would absolutely grow it again if I knew what variety it was - I wasn't as good back then at keeping notes on the garden. In other cases I think some are hybrids developed primarily for look and flavor or texture was forgotten, which is a real shame.

I watched a show this weekend about high tunnel growing (I'm getting that bug), and he had a 100 foot long row of a fist sized tomato that was black as pitch, and looked like a giant nightshade berry (which tomatoes are a relative of) and as they fully ripen they go towards red, but retain some brown black splotches. He fully admitted that they were grown and picked unripe as they looked the novelty and people loved how weird they looked taking them home.
But that ripened they look battered and bruised, and don't taste the best. But sells them hand over fist.
