What did you do in the garden today?

My newest favorite series.
They are far more temperate than we are, so I think of them being ahead, of me, about 3 weeks.

Good morning gardeners. Not much to do outside still. We got some snow showers then rain overnight. But there is still several inches of snow on the ground and a thick layer of ice on the roof. We've still got another night of really cold temps then warming a bit. Daytime highs will be more early Spring like, thank goodness. The first blossom on my Mandarin orange tree is still developing but not open yet. There is another forming as well. My impatiens are starting to bloom as well. Both the orange and the Meyer lemon tree are sending out more leaves so I'm guessing they might like a little fertilizer now. I'll be checking over my garden plans today and determine how many vegetable plants I can squeeze in this year. Have a great day all.

Well folks, despite the extended travel time the lilac looks good! The soil is moist and doesn’t need watering either. I knew it was here because the dogs came unglued

Morning Gardeners. Second cup of coffee have 5 spouts of those I thought dead. Ordered a new pot to put them in.
Other pots I could have put one in each not 5.

I'm hoping to plant some of the new rose bushes tonight. They've been soaking in a bucket with some SuperThrive overnight.

I also have some pelleted flower seeds that I'd like to plant in some starter cups. Other than that....I need to go back through my seeds and see what I'm forgetting. There's always something....

My Territorial seed order arrived!

Going to try wax beans again, I can't find them fresh or frozen anywhere and I'd love to have enough to home can. The cucumbers and summer squash are going in the raised beds this year, they don't do well in my pots. A few of the tomatoes will go in pots and the rest into the beds, but all of the peppers will be in pots, I can group them next to the greenhouse and that reflected heat makes all the difference.

Smells of smoke outside. Ridiculously dry out. Extreme Fire Weather today.
Hit 78 degrees as I was calling it quits for the day.
Smaller things left on the hoop house.
I'll piddle around with them tomorrow as the winds will be very high and I don't care to work in that. Frost blanket brackets in the beds, the door threshold stones, weather stripping on the bottom of the door, and some touch up paint, pick up my mess in the shop, and pre-paint all the tack strips.
Then I just wait for a windless day to do plastic.

I frosted the west window as I think it will be far too much heat.

Just hit 80. Ridiculous. only 50 tomorrow, but 74 Friday, and then back to 64, the 41, then 62. WHIPLASH!
