What did you do in the garden today?

and a handful more of cilantro since I never have found what happened to the last THREE batches I've planted! Go figure!

Man I've got a mess of cilantro coming up in one of my beds from the one plant that went to see last year, but it's one of the "weeds" I don't mind at all.

I planted a row of cilantro one year. The next year, there were lots of little plants coming up in the same place, and a few feet over. Now it's spread all through the asparagus bed. I find single little plants coming up all over the garden. It was the first thing I harvested too.

For their first day "outside," the little plants did very well. I'll be gone a lot of tomorrow, so I'll leave the sheet over the crate, just in case, as we could get some wind and rain.

A friend came over to get some comfrey leaves. He read online that comfrey leaves would deter wire worms from his potatoes. His plan is to dig a trench, put in a layer of leaves, then the spuds, then cover it all with dirt. Has anyone done anything like this to prevent wire worms?

Nothing in my personal garden, but started my garden unit at school! We looked at zone 5 and what we are able to grow here. Kids start their plantings next week!

They will probably be okay until they start flowering. You will notice that the soil around them will dry out when they get bigger, so you will need to water them more often or upgrade to a bigger size pot.

I have been using a mild blooming type of liquid fertilizer, since my plants are mature and flowering, but my soil has 3 month granular type (10.10,10) mixed in around the rim.

That does it, I'm going to make a few linked barrels at the back of the house to collect some of our rain. I like your set up and it looks like something that I can adapt for here.

I bit the bullet and put out the baby cucumbers (again) so here's hoping they live this time. I want to get most of the summer squash out as well. Planning on feeding the heck out of the peppers still in the greenhouse and see if I can get them growing faster.

I placed a low platform in the run to get the littles someplace to run and hide then opened the small doors to let them get out with the big girls. The littles have been out there about 2 weeks now and it looks like the see but no touch plan worked a treat again. One of the little cockerels tried to intimidate a big delaware and got shown his error of his ways. The timing for the chicks currently in DP's shower needing to go out to the coop should be about perfect.

Back to the garden, everyone stay dirty!

I have tons of cilantro. I'm going to pick and freeze it before it all seeds out.

I think we can make plants from cuttings, its been done in this video. I'll try making a few for gifts.

No but I did see a YT video other day where you can wrap a comfrey leaf around the base of squash plants and it keeps some critter (cant remember which one) from boring into the plant!
