What did you do in the garden today?

Welp, harvested my garlic. They didn't get very big *sigh*

Weeded a bit and watered while I was out there.
I haven't dug mine up yet but I can already tell they won't be very big. In fact I think I lost over half of what I planted last fall. I had two planters packed full. I probably have less than 10 plants left and they all look spindly and small.

My summer projects inside this summer are decoupage related. I have a chest I need to stain, then putting on some antique map tissue paper. First I’m painting the legs on these stools white with black seats and adding lips to the top. Not the greatest pic, but my kitchen is grey and white with black and white accessories so should match just fine. I also have some napkins with a small floral print. I might decoupage them onto veggie cans and hang them on a shelf in the kitchen. Haven’t decided for sure.

Show they eye's ya think

I am also hoping to get the wood cut for my garden hod. I made one for my daughter as a Christmas present and she loves it. I know I really need one because in the past I have had to make several trips to bring in the produce.
Oooooo, pics please!
I swear this summer is hotter than last summer... I've got nothing but 95+ on the ten-day forecast and half of it is over 100. *sigh*
Southern Oregon coast has been cooler and wetter but most of the rest of the state has been hotter and wetter.
Another sunflower sprout eaten :barnie

Would grubs eat sunflowers? They look like been eaten from the bottom.
Here I'd suspect cutworms, slugs or snails.
These are SUPPOSED to be Amazing Grey Poppies. They clearly aren't. Anyone recognize this flower? I'm going to have to reach out to Baker Creek and say something.
Yeah, nigella (love in a mist). Beautiful stuff but reseeds like crazy!

Shopping run today then processed 4 low producing hens, and 1 obnoxious cockerel. Pulled more of the yarrow that I in my madness planted 2 years ago. Actually they are beautiful and I'm not sorry I added them to the beds but they sure spread fast. I think I'll toss them in the bottom of the wine barrel I still need to plant.

I started grinding my egg shells in a ninja blender with water when ever I have them and pour them on my tomato plants. I guess I was ignorant or lazy before the light came on. I have chickens and they lay a lot of eggs.

Everyday, in every way, I get better and better.

I just crush the eggshells and give them either to my chickens or spread them over garden.

Its a glorious day for me as I stand with out a shirt out in my yard in the evening with out a single mosquito bite........................Just a day ago my order for a replacement UV light and mosquito bait for my 3/4 acre Dyna mosquito trap arrived. Prior to this glorious day I have been eaten alive every morning and evening when ever I went out to water my plants. It feels like a dream................................

I got a bigger 1 acre Dyna Mosquito trap on its way, I might have over reacted, but its good to have a back up. The only problem with the bigger trap is it uses a larger more expensive UV replacement bulb. The directions say to replace the bulbs every 4 months, but I have been doing it once a year, unless the UV bulb goes out like it just did. I won't use this new one until my older one needs a replacement UV bulb or if I get bitten, so far, so good.

I went ahead and pulled up the spinach so i could have room for okra. Got the okra into the garden yesterday and looks like it literally put on growth and a leaf overnight!
Transplanted the mint to bigger pot...it looks happier!
Lavender is doin well!!! Keeping it watered each day unless it rains good...must definitely be the key like yall said!
Need to get galvanized tub filled with compost and dirt today to make an Oregano bed....it's comin out my ears but luv the smell and look so figures that's a good way to keep it in check.
Tried to tie up morning glory but in my weakness and tiredness I ended up walking into the deck...nice headache 😆.
Got grandsons today....gonna try not to overdo it like I did over weekend which set me back couple days.
