Yes I. have done this . They have a very thick seed coat that needs nicked in order for moisture gets in to germinate . FYI layering the vine works to start new plants also .I got distracted this morning with additional chores related to the animals (cleaning algae sludge out of every water bowl) that I didn't get around to the garden yet. Seeds will have to wait until evening...
Anyone ever collected and sprouted wisteria seeds? My wisteria tree is putting out over a dozen seed pods (that I can reach). I thought about harvesting them and trying to sprout some for the garden area. Happy to send out the extras if anyone wants any? I'm assuming they shouldn't be collected until they are dry in the late fall. Anyone ever done this before?
