What did you do in the garden today?

YES I remember those!!!
Winter Squash. I assumed it was the same concoction they shoved in cans. The solid brick of veg that birdseye put out decades ago that stacked SO nicely in the freezer!
THAT is the one, that you put a big lop of butter in, a bit of brown sugar or cane syrup if you liked that too and it was an awesome food to eat.

My iguana, oh god this brings back memories, my iguana Id cook iggy some too he loved it as well, and he'd bury his entire head in it eating and my girlfriend and myself would laugh so hard because he'd dig his head out and he's have like a bright orange squash mane like a lizard lion.

We would kind of argue over who gets to catch him and clean him up, but she had a ferret she'd bring over when she came for the weekends, and the ferret and the lizard, the ferret would tease the hell out of iggy who'd be pissed at first but eventually give in, but at the end of the day they'd both curl up with each other on the couch and sleep. anyways the ferret would eat the squash off the lizards face, he'd lick it off.

I love it too. Sweet potatoes too.
I can eat mashed squash right from the can.
Apparently at walmart......

Ive seen that exact same advertisement, as I searched for it too but none of the walmarts out here seem to carry it :(

The label, shows two different type of squash tho. One looks acorn squash looking the other could pass for a butternut. I'll have to see if I can grow that here. off to look up winter squash

Seminole pumpkin or squash is a variable shape butternut type . Grows wild or semi wild . So butternut should do well .

I wish I didn't have a family of picky eaters... Especially when it comes to vegetables. They won't eat any winter squash. Heck, they don't eat nearly anything but corn, peppers, and onions. I still grow other things anyway because I like them....like carrots, broccoli, zucchini, etc.
WHat about a squash onion soup, which is delicious btw.

I often mow the lawn at dusk IF it has not stormed by then for the day..
You need to get small pairs of eyeglasses that fit the head of a chicken, and tape pictures of crickets on them. They'll keep your lawn nice and short for you !!
We have this one section of lawn about 2x8 near the chicken coop but not fenced, too small to get the riding mower in, & not feeling like dragging out the weedwhacker. So I gave the girls 1 hour of time in that space (had to block them from the end so the didn’t enter the unfenced area of the yard with my dogs). After the 1 hour, the grass was matted, short, and manicured enough to not bother me anymore. And I got to watch chicken tv and sip iced tea. 😊
