What did you do in the garden today?

The only thing I’ve really been doing in the garden is picking the occasional weed, and harvesting. A lot. I will probably leave my summer squash, tomatoes, and peppers in until maybe the second week of September. Still getting tons of beans and cucumbers. The greens will stay until they die out, and I’ll pull my butternuts at first frost warning. Transplanted the 9 lettuce starts I had in the window.

Any suggestions on blocking two rows of greens off from the chickens? I want to let them out in the garden for fall cleanup, but I don’t want them to eat my newly planted kale & chard lol. Any old plants are fair game.

He wouldn’t help me pick any peaches ( because he doesn’t like them 🤣) but he did help pick Gala apples.
We had a good time but he wasn’t a fan of the tractor ride out to the different orchards.
