What did you do in the garden today?

do the flowers have any aroma that you can tell?

If it was a jasmine Id imagine you'd be smelling it pretty well and right away.

My ability to smell accurately has never really recovered after Covid but I don't really smell anything when I'm out there in it. I can smell Honeysuckle when it's in bloom but even though I could be standing in the middle of waist high plants all around me for whatever this is I don't smell anything at all... So I can safely say it isn't any kind of jasmine.

Sida rhombifolia

At least according to a plant identifier app. The description literally says unpalatable to livestock, so that explains a lot.
YES! I think you are right... One site says this too -

"It’s called wireweed because if you’ve ever tried to pull one out of the ground it’s a strong as any left over fence and why it is also used for cordage."

No joke... It's practically impossible to pull out of the ground by hand. The only way to clear it out is with the mower but it's growing in a lot of tight places where the mower doesn't fit and the weed eater is worthless against this crap. My next option is the hedge trimmers...
