What did you do in the garden today?

Well, the sugar in fresh fruit, is just a different type of sugar BUT the rest of the fruit is pretty good for you, vitamins, antioxidants , stuff like that. whereas the Oreo's is just Calories, Fat, High Blood Pressure, but oh taste, or used to at least, taste so good.

I also remember the days when Oreo's Double Stuff... was just single stuff... and Pop Tarts were about half an inch thick, and unlike today you didn't need a scanning electron microscope to see the fruit layer in them.

Has anybody here ever attempted to remove a pepper plant from outside in the garden and have it over winter inside the house so it can be planted next spring? I have heard that this is possible, and that the plants grow faster and stronger the second year. If anyone has info on this, I would love to hear about it. Most of my money for the garden is buying new pepper plants every year. I would love to cut down on that cost if possible while at the same time getting stronger pepper plants and peppers ready to eat earlier in the summer. Thanks for any help.

you can do that. prune them so it will be easier to keep them alive and they will grow stronger and faster next spring. they might look like small bushes if you don't prune them, lol.

Right on.... Years ago in college I survived on Mountain Dew and M&Ms. The last time I drank a Mountain Dew a few years ago, I gagged. So disgusting... They had to have changed the recipe. Tastes like chemical swill.

Still like peanut M&Ms though. They are one of those treats I can eat a couple and then my sweet tooth is satisfied for weeks.

Lucky you ! I have more than 1 sweet tooth , would be way easier for me if I could just stop after 2, and then not touch it again for months , I really envy people like that !!! I tried keeping 2 chili plants over the winter, but they didn’t make it, I fear either too cold or too little light

If you are keeping plants over winter, a simple grow light, can do wonders to keep them alive. they will survive and be somewhat healthy but probably won't really thrive. the newer ones are LED, and personally I am not impressed with them, they don't seem to do as well as the old incandescent ones did. But put a light on them 8 to 10 hours a day, basically when you are up turn the light on and off at night. That should help you a lot to keep them thru the cold / dark months.

Thanks. I'm going into town today and will check out what is available.

I went to Lowe's on Monday to pick up some construction supplies for my new duck coop. I was so disappointed that they didn't have their blackberries and raspberries on the clearance rack yet...
