What did you do in the garden today?

I have had luck with the carmel taste by warming maple syrup for my iced coffee. It's not as gooey but I know it's not white burnt sugar. I've tried with a warmed honey/ boiled apple cider blend.. worked well with light coffee. Summer time favorite is blueberry syrup with iced coffee. It's super odd but so refreshing.

Did you get any rain drops!? My skies lied and lied even had distant thunder and lightening but no rain. It's nice autumn decided to rush in. I'm definitely not upset by it. By Monday I'll have all the windows open and start the before winter deep clean lol. Guess I just like being busy.
The Blueberry Syrup. Some of the Ethiopian coffee's have a strong natural blueberry flavor to them. You don't get that every year out of them but when they DO h it, it's wow. I can sell literally a ton of those beans in a few days when they do come available it's just crazy but it taste SOOOoo good.

Many people don't realize that coffee is actually a cherry and the bean is it's pit. You can eat the fruit too, I forget what it is called but they do sell that somewhat as well.

Oooo... That sounds delicious! Now I'm going to be thinking about that for days... 😉

No rain here. It did cool down dramatically though. I turned the air off and opened the windows. (A sign that signals I'm not originally from the south...). It got a bit chilly to the point I put on a light jacket! ❤️❤️❤️

I love that so many artisan coffee shops have popped up and people have begun experimenting with coffee recipes. Besides the one by my church, there's a separate place about a half mile from my house. They have some really amazing mixed coffee drinks (hot and cold) but they tend to be a bit expensive. You can easily spend $8-$12 on a cup of coffee there so I don't go there but once a month or so.

The only other name I know coffee cherries by is Cascara. The juice is rich in antioxidants and tastes pretty decent too. Though it wasn't as marketable as coffee, not much is. Coffee was my focus in my beverage classes in college.. instead of a paper I had to procure green beans (I did 4 varieties) roast them and present the different flavor profiles. It was a ton of fun! The Ethiopia coffee is possibly my favorite even over Jamaica blue. The blueberry flavor happens when it's a perfect sun to rainfall ratio but it only happens in Ethiopian beans(which is amazing). I got to work with some bean growers in Hawaii...I wish I could get a hold of some of both (Ethiopian and kona) to get a chocolate blueberry it wouldn't need anything in it.

🤣 I do the same thing and my neighbor thinks I'm crazy! Our windows push out to the side and she's a bored retired lady. She called my yesterday afternoon "yall ok your windows are open! You might get sick" haha no no we are from the cold places(midwest and eat coast) we will be ok

If the frost is mild your squashes should be ok, they regrow new leaves fast anyways, the tomaters not so sure. Worse case leave the fruits on the vine as it withers down and see if you can get a few extra days of ripening on them.

Frost sneaks like that, when we get early season or last minute frost, everything seems fine then bing in about a 5 minute period it just zip everything ffreezes. the main thing is how long the frost was on them and how badly the leaf got frozen, which will killit

I don't have any Kona right now but DO have some Lbs of the eth blueberry left, i got a few seasons but as it get older it's not as potent but it shows how it varies over the year. Kona and chocolate, hmmm.. Kona has it's own inique flavor. THe Centrals coming in now THERE is where the chocolate is. I have an El Salvador that is just YUM !!
