What did you do in the garden today?

The surgery is going to put you down hard. If she's damaged then yah she'll need surgery BUT if she can tolerate the pain a bit, if a few shots or something can get her by until after the holidays, that's an option maybe? I remember when I had my shoulder 'rebuilt' and it was just rotten for the first week. Any movement you did was painful and throbby and just ugh not to mention not sleeping very well so you are a drugged zombie the first 3 days or so. Not fun

Aaron
The surgery will be arthroscopic outpatient surgery.

Started as snow here too but turned to rain & no signs of it today. Quite windy out so it feels chilly out there. Welcome back to real life!

Got the rest of the run covered & cut new filters for the windows. Blocking the nest boxes tonight - I have one molter left who is still sleeping in there & I'm over it. Cleaning the coop out this weekend so she needs to get back on the roosts, sick of a dirty nest (at least she sleeps in the one no one lays in).

Garden is put to bed till next spring. The yard is cleaned & everything is put away.

Well part of the egg mystery is solved.
Midnight is about nekkid ! she decided NOW in the middle of november to be molting. So yah tis is going to be fun. Well good news is, she's going out of cycle but the two new ones should start laying any week now.

Aaron
I have several who are molting too. 🙄

Several of mine appear to be doing a light molt as well. They are also on strike due to the cold temperatures. We've been below freezing for several nights in a row now and today I saw a few snowflakes while we we at TSC picking up feed, hay for the nest boxes, a propane refill, and pine shavings for the run. I didn't spread the pine shavings this time. Figure I'll let the girls do that over the next couple of days. I pulled a big carrot out of the garden.... Which I left outside. I should go get that. lol

Bought a turkey yesterday at Krogers for .69 a pound . About 14 pounds . I will split it so Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner . Yesterdays snow is mostly gone . Temps are going to drop for the weekend . Going to grind some venison today . A friend gifted me a doe .
That’s a nice friend!
Our first “snow.” Yuck! We got maybe an inch or two then it started raining on top of it. Nasty slushy mess. I got the chicken run wrapped but I came up a little short. Two of the shower curtains are a bit rough looking so I’ll run to Walmart later and pick some up. No working in the garden today. I didn’t have time to work on the leaves yesterday. I had to drive DD to the doctor again. Apparently her knee is a bit more than a simple sprain. Her MRI is at the end of the month. She likely will need surgery on her knee. Wah! That puts a little damper on our holiday festivities.
Oh geez Sarah, I hope she’s ok!
