What did you do in the garden today?

The only thing I bought this weekend was actually today and it was my seed order for spring I finally used my seeds from 3-4 years back up this summer so time to restock. Got a good deal, everything was $1.70/packet through MIGardeners

I would kill DH if he got us matching 100+k trucks like they do on tv.

I did buy myself a 12 quart stainless stock pot tho! Needed an in between size. I give out my jam to people, I don’t do presents. Took me years to talk my family out of that ‘you give me a gift card & I’ll give you one’. Thankfully. DHs family plays that game & I refuse to be a part of it. Have a jam. Lol

I have one item I saw in a gift catalog that I want to give to a friend. Other than that, we do homemade gifts, usually food. Dried fruit, nut butters, that sort of thing. Sometimes a neat, handmade item from a small business, or useful things. Occasionally cash, especially when we know the person needs it.

DH and I usually get "us" something we need. This year, it'll probably be a couple of tools.

As I've read online, "Don't buy crap you don't need to impress people you don't like."

I make homemade soap and lotion to give to the kids, along with my homegrown loofah.

I really wanted to grow those, and partly to give as gifts! Alas, mind didn't do diddly.

Kind of like my sweet potatoes. So maybe I'll try again...

I cut them into 6 inch "personal" sized loofahs.

Edited to add - someone at DH's work suggested that she pours homemade soap into the center of her loofahs. I've never done that before but might experiment with it this year.

soap in the middle, would just turn ooky or run out. Keep it moist to the point of turning moldy within a week if you didn't use it up id think.

I've done it. You put the loofahs in a mold and pour the soap on them.

Never tried the loofa out here our growing season is so short.
