What did you do in the garden today?

Has it been raining there quite a bit lately and have there been any bug pests?

I’d recommend taking your banana and mango plants indoors when the weathers bad.
I can’t take the mango inside, it’s a 70 year old tree, and according to weird laws from the British occupation, it’s illegal to remove trees, unless they endanger homes.
I didn’t see any pests, just a few spiders. Yes, it’s been raining more than the usual amount, and temperatures went down to 8 degrees Celsius.

Hello, I’m back, because my Longan is suffering, and I bet some of you know your way around trees better than I do.
We have a bug attacking our fruit trees in Hawaii. It doesn't kill the tree, but makes them unsightly. I sprayed my fruit trees with a solution of neem oil and soap to kill the bug, but they come back, so its a on going battle. I take the dome off my seed tray as soon as the lettuce sprout and put them in the sun. The seedlings can handle the sun, but when they get bigger leaves the sun in my area scorches them. Although I set them out early, I still need a shade cloth to grow them to maturity in my area.
I think I can get away without a shade cloth. I know they won’t survive June-Aug but if I can get a few months harvest out of them I’ll be happy.

I am going to Lowes this morning to see if they have 1/4 inch threaded rods. I am going to screw them in my cement tubs and form a small hoop for a shade cloth. Then I can put my won bok under them. My won bok has been wilting to the point they look like they were dying in my sun. However, they come back when I put them in the shade.

I will grow them in 1 gallon grow bags with a 1/2 inch water reservoir like I do with my lettuce. I think the aphids that attack them are brought in by ants, so ants won't be able to mine them in the flowing 1/2 inch water reservoir. I am not sure how aphids get on plants?

I just found out that aphids can fly on plants............:he

Interesting, my avocado has died a long time ago… could the bugs from the avocado moved to the longan and mango?
I’m pretty sure the banana just caught the banana seasonal flu, or that the earthquake shook it.
Edit: I can’t see any bugs though .

Tim's Taste of Paradise cherry tomato seeds from Wild Boar Farms were the hardest to sprout. The seeds are smaller than other varieties and they took the longest to sprout.

On my first attempt I used peat moss and gave up on them and decided to sprout them in a petri dish to see if they were viable. Typically most of the tomato seeds I sprout in a petri dish sprout in 4 to 5 days, but Tim's Taste of Paradise are just starting after 14 days, so far I have transplanted only 3 of them which is perfect for me if they survive.

This is a link to the history of this tomato, they say people who tried it like it hands down better than Sun Gold, https://wildboarfarms.com/product/tims-taste-of-paradise/
