Good morning gardeners

I worked on the spare bedroom yesterday. Going to put down new flooring. Moved furniture and started pulling up carpet. High of 58 today so I will work outside today. Snow coming Friday.

There are flowers open on the fruit trees Keep your fingers crossed for me all, I hope they take this year.

Skunk in the barn this morning. I could smell it as I approached from 100 yards away. I was hoping it was in the orchard. It was not. It scurried out the stall door as I made plenty of noise on approach. OMG the stench of one of those beasts that's been in its hole all winter. I am still gagging and coughing.

Phew!

You just reminded me of the time when I accidentally hit one with my old car while driving to work like a decade ago. I swear everything stunk for the next 20 miles afterwards…

I had the same problem on Monday night. Out of nowhere the dogs went crazy. Even though they were inside the house, they could smell it. As soon as I opened the door to let them out, I smelled it. Went outside and looked around the coops, barn, and shop for the booger. I was LOUD about the process to prevent surprises. Never saw the skunk. Hoping it absconded into the field behind us because it heard me coming.
