Luckily I have "obstacles" on 3 sides, provided they don't jump over... I could put hot rope up higher on those sides. That leaves just the side that I actually enter on. Right now I have weed barrier and mulch down on that end so that DH doesn't have to get the mower or trimmer near my veggies. And that section of the garden is only 10 ft x 20 ft so not a lot to maintain. Here's a picture of this area from earlier this spring.We did in 2019, chickens still got in. But deer and raccoons didn't. We don't have squirrels, tree squirrels.
Grounds keeping was a nightmare.
