What did you do in the garden today?

How many plants?

Yesterday I got another 19 off my two Roma plants:View attachment 3594269

Yes. I have a large cafeteria type of tray, it's perfect for produce. I pick my tomatoes at first blush so they don't get nibbled by worms or insects. Within a couple days they're fully ripe.
40 plants

Cut lettuce have a couple of nice red tomato from the garden.
Glad I was doing lettuce as some has started bolting cut all back.
try to keep lettuce going through the summer.
I ate a yummy tomato sandwich today. Wish there was some way they could taste that good from the store come winter.

Watered the fruit trees, berries, & pumpkins. In the middle of doing the pumpkins it started raining! I almost cried. It has been so dry here & we haven't had any decent rainfall this month. Only ended up with 3/10 in but I'll take it! It felt so nice today too. Overcast with a breeze & only got up to 81. Hubby & I spent all day outside with renewed motivation. Worked on the goat barn (converting a carport), finished up the turkey coop, & he built me a milking stanchion. It was a great day!

My chickens pruned my beans plants while they had their freedom this evening. The 2"x4" welded wire fence gives plenty of room for them to stick their heads in and grab onto the leaves.

It's no big deal. There are plenty of leaves remaining on the bean plants. Shouldn't hurt them, and it makes the chickens happy.

we expect another heat wave from wednesday. not as brutal as the previous one but still hot. I hope it will be the last one.

I plan to plow again this week so that heat kills some weeds. after that I will slowly start to sow some seeds: zucchinis, cucumbers, beans and all winter crop seeds. I will try a few oaxaca corn as well. didn't want to waste seeds as this year weather sucks. a friend of mine sowed 2 kg (about 4 lb) corn seeds and he has got about 5-6 corn stalks that are about 10 inch tall. what a waste.

Our temps are coming down too after days of high 90's and 100's 101's. Tomorrow will only reach 88 and on Tuesday..and..Wed..rain! A relief to say the least!
