What did you do in the garden today?

they popped the flower stalks there, with some Hokus-Pokus eggs
I highly doubt that will result in a new plant.
I do concede that Bananas are not my forte though.

On the plus side, you won't miss the blooms.
And (considering the forum) the eggs.
It looks like she is using young or beginning stage flower heads. There is a scene where she cuts a flower head that had only put out a few clusters of bananas and the other flower heads in her hand look younger than the one she cut.

I won't cut my newly formed banana baby early; I'll wait until the banana bunch fills in before cutting off the flower like I normally do.

Did you know that the banana flower heads are edible? I have tried some recipes on You Tube, but it's too much work for me., I'd rather use them for fertilizer.

Starting to get more tomatoes, picked enough for a salad today.

Zucchini keeps producing, so today I made a roast using them cut up chunky, the last of last years' potatoes, a few fresh carrots, supermarket mushrooms and onions, a cauliflower from the dollar bin, and a pork package from our local farm, of "country ribs." No bones in it, just strips of rib meat with a bit of fat. Put it all in a turkey roaster in the oven at 450 for 1hr 15 min, turned out perfect!

Butternuts are close to ripening. Still huge, healthy, and so many, I'm sure to start picking this week, fingers crossed.

But what makes me deliriously happy, is the dahlias! OMG! Here's what I cut and put in a vase today so we can enjoy them day and night:

I've never had so many varieties. In the past I had the purple ones in the back, and pink ones that were similar in form. The orange ones with compact petals, I've admired them before but growing them is amazing. The little ones with yellow centers, I've never grown them either. The giant red ones are so beautiful.
I enjoy cutting a few to put in a vase for indoors, but watching them grow in the garden makes my heart surge. More and more are blooming - a giant, tall plant with huge red ones, a 3ft plant with the orange ones, tons of beautiful flowers keep blooming. The little cuties keep producing more and more flowers, and several other plants are starting to form blooms, I can't wait to see them!

This joy in my life is all due to Sueby!
That makes me so happy! I love that someone else gets as much joy out of the Dahlias as I do! They are a bit of work & go against my motto of only if I can eat it, lol, but they make me happy. I cut them & bring them everywhere I go - camping, to friends, to picnics or parties, etc. Everyone loves them.

ETA: actually the bulbs are edible but I haven't tried. & they are not bulbs, but that's what I'm calling them. :gig
I was unclear.

Instead of ripping out the plants, just bury them and let them decompose in the bed.
That's what I'm thinking I will do with mine. They are also in a huk (I'll never spell it) bed & have sunk down, that never bothered me, but I can't bend over to pick them so I'm certainly not bending over to pull them.
I would say no support as they are a type of soybean.
Someone in the Greenstalk group suggested they were a bush bean. I assume not really, but they act as one so that's great. Thanks for the confirmation.
