What did you do in the garden today?

The moderators are on their toes today. Good job!
Good grief, what'd I miss??
=======
Hooked up the trailer and drove down to the lumber yard. I'll start working on the permanent chicken run walls with removable winter storm windows this week. I've got decent enough weather through Sunday, albeit HOT, and the biting pirate bugs are out. So that limits the work from about 4pm on.

One thing I learned after the gels & comfrey poultices etc etc.
I can't stand, I can't sit, I can't dance :old however I found something that tames the inflammation & pain

Emu Oil. Dang it helps me get to sleep & tames the pain.
First I can see a PA is another week. Try the Emu oil I am impressed.

That's funny!

What do you do with the fruit? What does it taste like? Are those the things that leave a taste like nasty armpits after you eat them?
It’s been awhile since I’ve had persimmon. Note in my previous post both types say “non-astringent” bc persimmons can really be astringent until ripe. We try to grow non-typical or hard to find ripe fruit, so persimmons fit. I’ll have to learn more about how to deal with them. But I have a few years before any fruit!

I loved eating the native persimmons, but it was hard to get to them before the racoons and possums got 'em. And yeah, an unripe American persimmon can really make your mouth pucker up.

I did a little research on the original earth box site and found out that they are recommending soilless peat based potting mixes. Earth box has Miracle Grow seed starter mix listed as one of their recommended mixes which is different from the Miracle Grow potting mix. The only thing I can get at my local Lowes would be Pro Mix which looks like fine peat and perlite.
