What did you do in the garden today?

It's been fair and dry here, lovely fall weather.

The collards are doing well, I've been watering them regularly.

Leaf lettuce is looking healthy, too (front)

I had a couple extra lettuce seedlings and one extra collard, so I planted them by the side door, in my herb planter. The rosemary gave up the ghost this year, but some evening primroses I am trying to propagate are coming back from being fried this Summer.

And there's a purslane growing there, no idea where it came from...

In that last photo you can see the lattice sides of our steps, the ones I restained this weekend and last. Two coats of stain should keep the wood protected over the winter.

Starting to save pumpkin seeds, asking friends who have different pumpkins to do the same. Will be saving seeds from winter squash I buy as well. Hopefully I will get a nice collection. In addition I am planning to test germinate some seeds. I might start my corn inside this winter, to get a jump on next year’s crop. Also going to sort out seed from my organic chicken feed and try and germinate that, I’ve sprouted some before accidentally. Anyway planning ahead. ✌️
Would you like some mini pumpkin seeds? My grandson gave me his mini pumpkin and I kept the seeds for him next year. Give me your address and I'll send them to you.

Good afternoon all. Got the pickets done today and I LOVE this color! I have part of a can left and I’m going to paint the ugly pipe we can’t get out of the ground with it. Hubs put our rain gauge on it so it might well look nicer.

That color is absolutely GORGEOUS AND BEAUTIFUL. Excellent choice.

Once again trying to summon the energy to feed the beds today with some fish hydrolysate but paralyzed by laziness. Oh I picked up the rest of those drums. You know with the bungs in the bottom they could all be used as bato buckets but I'd have to cover/paint them.

How do you folks go about covering your reservoirs? I think if I had to do it bulk would paint be the easiest? I think either that or use some sort of reflective material.

I whole heartedly feel you. It seems like these days that lazy, laid back, take time off feeling is always so overwhelming. I don't even know if I can get it together enough to keep going. I'm going to try to make life work.
