What did you do in the garden today?

Anyone needs something free to watch in bad weather, this is an updated compilation of, "Shrouding the Heavens." I don't know how long it will be up, they usually take it down after a while:

Don't know much about Japanese anime, but I tagged the link and downloaded it with my 4K Video Downloader software to watch later. Looking forward to a long winter, so probably have time to check out those 8+ hours of that collection video. Thanks.

The temperature was in the 50s and 60s today, so I decided to do some site work for my two new raised beds.

Years ago we had a vegetable garden with raised beds. I let it go to weeds, then trees. I had all the trees cut down 18 months ago, then we covered the stumps with carpet to smother new growth. I decided to place the new raised beds partly on the carpeted area.

When I pulled back the carpet I found a lot of stumps. Some were fairly small, and most of them were dead, rotting.

You can see where the old beds and paths were, under the carpet.

I used my reciprocating saw to cut the stumps.

I'll add the rest of the boards to the sides tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

The beds in the back were set up this past Spring.

Picked the 1st batch of fall collards & had them for supper last night. I am also trying out carrots, spinach, & lettuce in the Greenstalks because I can't get them to grow in the dang ground...

Does looking at poinsettias count? Teen has a fundraiser for a school team that is selling poinsettias, so I chose 2.

Then I braved Costco. Arrived before they opened, gritted teeth for the duration bc always extra busy during holiday season, and on a Friday. They had some nice holiday planters -tempting, but I didn’t buy any.

Then finished the gingerbread baking. Pieces for a gingerbread house with a dormer cut out. Lots of gingerbread men and related cutouts. Recipe says to wait 2 days before assembling, so that’s on my list for Sunday/Monday. I have a few kits to assemble too, but I’m thinking of combining them into a larger or more interesting structure. But best to build one day and let the icing solidify before plastering heavy candy onto it. There is a small community competition, and kits are ok to enter, so that’s where some of this will end up. I didn’t win last year…but that’s ok bc the process is fun and messy and a little bit pointless. Hmmm…wonder if I can get a gingerbread and candy garden in the backyard of the gingerbread cottage??

I hope we get to see some photos! :)

I'm too weak-willed to wait two days .. it would all be assembled in my tummy by then lol

Bathrooms with no doors is a reoccurring nightmare of mine, I'm especially tormented by the nightmare where the toilet is in the middle of a crowded open space. *shudders*
